Custom Roof Skates Designed and Built by Envy Roofing

At Envy Roofing, we don’t just install high-quality roofing systems across South East Queensland. We also design and fabricate our own custom roof skates, engineered to support up to 400 kilograms per unit. These skates are purpose-built to handle the real conditions of Australian job sites and are now available direct to tradies who want to lift the standard of their own installs.

Why we engineered our own skates

Over years of roofing experience, we found that many off-the-shelf skates weren’t meeting the demands of complex installations. Whether it was load limits, fit with modern purlin profiles, or durability on abrasive work surfaces, the options available often came with trade-offs. Instead of working around these limitations, we designed a solution that meets our standards , and yours.

By engineering our own roof skates, we’re able to:

Ensure higher load capacity , up to 400kg per skate, Control the material selection, from steel gauge to roller hardware, Tailor dimensions to suit Australian roofing profiles, Improve safety, alignment and ease of movement during installs

Built for real-world site conditions

These skates aren’t built in theory. They’re tested and refined in the same demanding commercial and industrial projects our teams work on daily. Each unit is fabricated for durability and stability, making them ideal for handling long roof sheets, panel packs and bundled materials across purlins without damaging the roof surface or overloading components.

Their low-friction design allows for smooth, controlled movement of roofing packs across wide spans, helping crews maintain flow and reduce manual strain.

Now available to the trade

Envy Roofing’s in-house roof skates are now available direct to roofing professionals who value quality tools and dependable gear. If you’re a tradie working across Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast and want to invest in fit-for-purpose, heavy-duty equipment , this is made for you.

Whether you’re managing a commercial installation or an industrial upgrade, having the right handling equipment makes a difference in efficiency, safety and end-result.

Designed by roofers, for roofers

Our team understands what it takes to deliver consistent, high-quality results on site. These skates have been developed in collaboration with our own install teams to meet the performance demands of modern roofing work. We’ve removed the guesswork, reinforced the load points and made sure every component stands up to daily use.

By supplying these skates to other tradies, we’re sharing a tool that helps raise the standard of installs across Queensland, because the better the tools, the better the job.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a roof skate and how is it used in roofing projects?

A roof skate is a low-friction support tool with rollers, designed to help roofing teams move long or heavy materials like metal sheets across purlins safely and efficiently. It reduces manual handling strain and protects roof surfaces during installation.

Are Envy Roofing’s skates suitable for use in Queensland conditions?

Yes. Our skates are fabricated with Australian conditions in mind, including coastal corrosion, high UV exposure and harsh site wear. Each unit is built for strength, durability and long-term performance on local job sites.

Can I buy Envy Roofing’s skates if I’m a tradie in Brisbane or Gold Coast?

Absolutely. These skates are now available direct to qualified tradespeople working throughout South East Queensland. You can get in touch with our team to discuss availability and how they can support your roofing work.

How many skates do I need for a typical roofing job?

It depends on the weight and length of the material you’re handling. As a general guide, multiple skates should be spaced evenly to support the full load, minimising stress on purlins and keeping movement controlled.
